The Oklahoma Sports Museum at 315 W. Oklahoma in Guthrie, was founded by Hall of Fame pitcher, Fergie Jenkins, as well as Harlem Globe Trotter Geese Ausbie from Crescent, OK,and former Guthrie school official Richard Hendricks.
There are more than 600 items on display from almost 300 Oklahoma athletes who have represented Oklahoma in the state, national, or international arena. This includes the popular exhibits on baseball and football, and sports like rodeo. Olympians are also highlighted.
The museum is interactive and guided tours can be requested. The museum is the founding organization of the Warren Spahn Award, which is given annually to an outstanding left-handed pitcher in the major leagues. The museum hosts the Oklahoma High School Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame and has a Native American athlete display.
One and two-day baseball camps are offered at the facility, headed by Hall-of-Famer Ferguson Jenkins. Batting cage rental is also available for baseball or softball. There is a gift shop at the museum. There is no admission fee, however, donations are appreciated.
