The leaves are half skeletal, representing death and half still alive as shown by the transparent coloured glass.

The photographs were taken on the day of the first snowfall of winter on 27th November 2010, adding to atmosphere of the idea of winter decay.

His music often had themes of life, death, and regeneration, and had a love of nature.
