The vain looks like a flat trumpet and has the word relief painted on it. The directional part is a hoop, metal with the directions welded on top in individual letters. Between the directions, there are holes on the hoop to allow sunlight to pass through it. The letters are painted and red and the hoop is painted white. The trumpet part is also white with red trim. The whole thing is topped off with a gold ball and a flat ball just beneath.
