It is possible that part of the Kennedy Steam Bakery was at the location of the sign, but the main building, now the Kennedy Bisquet Lofts, is at least one block away.
Sign says:
"Site of a firm founded in 1839 once famous for Kennedy's Bisquits."
The actual factory building is between Franklin and Green Streets, one block south of the sign, which is mounted on the wall of the Salvation Army building on Mass. Avenue.
This factory is the site where many well known brands were started, including Lorna Doons and Fig Newtons cookies. The company was one of five that formed the National Bisquit Company, or Nabisco.

Visit Instructions:
When logging a Massachusetts Historic Marker, we ask that you not only describe your visit, but to upload a picture from it. The picture does not have to be of the marker - one picture of the marker is enough. But a photo of you standing next to the marker or a photograph the subject of the marker - those are examples of possible photographs to upload.
