I gleaned this info from a model railway website:
After building a small number of a few different types of cabooses beginning in the late-1960s, CP Rail's Angus shop embarked on an ambitious program to build several hundred more nearly-identical wide vision steel welded-side 40' cabooses. These represented the final design of cabooses before the railway went cabooseless in early 1990.
The CP group 434300-735 range plus some in the 434900 series were the most numerous.
