"They're not real.

The woman is brandishing a longboard and smiling excitedly while peering to the east. The man is waxing his board while looking up at her, equally revved.

But they're made of hand-painted bronze.

J. Johnson Gallery donated the pair of sculptures to the city. They were created by J. Seward Johnson, gallery owner Jennifer Johnson Duke's brother.
