Forming a square, with about 30 meters away, the wall Casteleiro reinforced cylindrical towers in northern and southern sides, and in the northwest and southwest corners, and square towers in the northeast and southeast, this about a yard in which stood the palace of the Warden, whose ruins have a new life. It was working a project a few years ago that contained the intention to restore the castle. Having applied this restoration, through the General Directorate of National Buildings and Monuments.
A tower rather robust, sweetened the west face of the wall, it integrates the whole Casteleiro. The eastern face of the wall is, to put it better, the core part of what surrounds the castle and village, and extending from both sides towards the south. This is going to result in a closing to a point, having covered about half a mile, call the Torch Tower, thus creating the shape of an isosceles triangle.
Altogether now, the castle of Óbidos, represents the final phase of a series that can constructively follow closely.
This castle was mentioned as one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal in 2007, which is classified as a Monument Hall.
