Not long after the end of World War I decided municipal authorities in small village Ohare, near Kolín in Central Bohemia, to erect the memorial dedicated to their 21 fellow-citizens of the village, which were killed in different battlefields of the World War I. At the top of the monument they decided to place statue of lion - a symbol bravery - which just killed some bird. Undoubtely it is an eagle, or she-eagle, symbol of Austrian-Hungary Empire, which Bohemia was part during WWI and just the end of the war caused its disintegration and it new Czechoslovakia State could come into existence.
