"Lanesborough's Town Government is led by a 3-person Board of Selectmen. Daily operations are overseen by a Town Administrator. There are numerous departments, boards and commissions whose contributions are essential to running the town. Some town positions are elected, while others are appointed. Town elections are held the third Tuesday in May, with Mt. Greylock School Committee elections held in November.

The Lanesborough Town Hall is located at 83 North Main Street. It is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Monday evenings from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. However, not all offices keep that scheule: See the individual department or office page to verify the hours. The Lanesborough Library, located at the back of Town Hall, has separate hours."
