"Raptors: A Vital Link in the Plateau's Food Chain
Look at the sky. You might see some large birds soaring above the earth. They are probably raptors, birds that catch, kill and eat other animals and birds. Although many people have the mistaken idea that raptors are "bad", these birds are important link in the Wasatch Plateau's food chain. They help control the population of rodents and other small animals, preventing overcrowding and starvation. Raptors can be seen year-round along the scenic byway, however, they are best seen along Skyline Drive and they are more plentiful during the fall migration. Shown here are some of the species you are most likely to see."
