The Piedmont and Western Railroad Club furnished this list of railroads served by this Depot:
Cape Fear & Yadkin Valley Railroad depot. Later Southern Railway and Norfolk Southern Railway. Now Yadkin Valley Railroad, a division of Gulf & Ohio Railways.
Located just north of Winston-Salem, this wooden depot was built in 1888, and is located at 8170 Depot Street, Rural Hall, NC 27045, one block off Highway NC-66. It is visible from the main road.
At the site is a caboose built in 1959. It looks like it is set up as a display, but it is in need of restoration and was not open to the public at the time of my visit.
The brick building 500 feet to the north, beside the tracks, is an active Gulf & Ohio facility.
