The city of Korat (Nakhon Ratchasima) is located in the centre of the city. The museum houses a variety of local artefacts stretching back to the hunter-gatherer era. There are also a number of informational displays in the museum. While small, the museum presents a great deal of information well. Tucked away in a back corner, is what looks to me, like a 'amateur local history group' area—books, a desk, and a few chairs.
The museum is also associated with the provincial library, and it is located in the government precinct of the city. The entrance to the Museum is through the archway leading to the library entrance, with the Museum is behind the library. When I visited in 2010 I was told that photography was not allowed. I had visited the Museum in 2006, at this time photography was permitted, the photographs of the interior come from this time.
