This memorial is located on the west end of Center Street in Hurley.

There is a new memorial that was placed in proximity to an older memorial in a very nice park.

The park itself is about one block square and has many trees along with a playground, bathrooms, and picnic shelters.

Hurley is a small community in Turner County, South Dakota. It is located just a couple miles north of US Highway 18.

The area was settled by German, Danish, Norwegian, English, Irish, and Dutch immigrants and was incorporated on November 20, 1883.

Its population was 378 in July 2009, reflecting an 11% decrease in population from the 2000 census.

Description of Memorial:
This memorial was added to a previous memorial in the city park. It is located on the west end of Center Avenue in this small community. The older memorial show the typical features of sculpture style of that era.
