'Established at St. Aldhelm's Quarry in 1934, W J Haysom & Son has a reputation and expertise resulting from generations of family involvement in quarrying and stone processing in Purbeck.
There has been a long association with, not only church and cathedral restoration, but all kinds of general masonry and specialised dimension work.
St. Aldhelm's Quarry is a source of Purbeck-Portland Stone yielding the attractive marine fossil Spangle bed and the relatively plain Pond Freestone, so prized for carving and monumental work.'
