Long Description:
This memorial is a bronze plaque mounted on a huge boulder. It is located in the outdoor display area of the Minnesota Military Museum on the grounds of Camp Ripley near Little Falls, MN. The museum is a treasure trove of outdoor military equipment and inside the museum has displays, artifacts, uniforms and weapons for the entire US military history.

The Medal of Honor is the highest military award for bravery that can be given to any individual in the United States of America. A bill for the Medal of Honor was passed by both houses of Congress and approved by President Abraham Lincoln on December 21, 1861. On March 25, 1863, the first Army medals were awarded in the name of the Congress of the United States. On April 3, 1863, the first Navy medals were awarded to sailors and mariners.

On the foundations of Camp Ripley, Minnesota... Our patriots have honored the brave and gallant men with a monument. "We have given all that was asked ... Thank God our time has passed."
