The tree is located on the eastern side of the city hall complex. It's on the second tier of a series of steps.

The plaque reads: This tree was planted during our silver anniversary in the commemoration of model growth citizens and industries and service symbolizing continued growth and progress. January 25, 1986.

On the side is an image of the seal of the city of Commerce. A list of civic leaders are written underneath.
