The Appalachian Trail follows the eastern edge of Lee, MA. To the north, the trail starts at US 20 and goes into October Mountain State Forest. The hike through October Moutain SFbecomes a little difficult at times. There is a large parking area, with information about the vicinity, a short walk from the trail head. Downtown Lee is about 5 miles west of the trail. In Lee, there are a number of restaraunts, several motels, supermarket, and a number of tourist attractions.
