At the top of the sign is a haymaking scene symbolising the local agriculture. Below the top panel are three smaller panels depicting Barton Mill, St Nicholas Church, and a nature scene symbolising the nearby Barton Hills.

The sign was made by Signs of the Times of Tebworth in 2003. The sign was cast in solid polyurethane, with all detail in relief, and was then hand painted.
