A welcome sign next to an historic fire station on Carlisle Avenue, just before the historic Lincoln Highway.

Interesting looking and rather large welcome sign located on the right side of the road if you are facing the Lincoln Highway and the fire station is on the left. The sign is in excellent condition. York is famous for their slogan and claim to fame, Nation's Capital. There is actually a lot to read on the sign with other possible slogans. I just used the one I see so frequently when I come here. The sign reads:
Welcome to York, Nation's Capital 1777-78, Twinned with the Cities of Arles, France Since 1954, Leinfelden - Echterdingen, Germany Since 1981.
