According to what I was told by a local tour guide this Wat is five centuries old. It houses ashes from an early Cambodian King. Also, the Wat in its original form was destroyed by the Khmer Rouge, but was restored soon after the end of their government.
The Wat can be reached by travelling north from the provincial capital of Kratie, along a very bumpy road.
