Both sides of the sign have a painting of the parish church. Under the church there are three panels, which carry different images on the two sides. On one side the panels carry an image of someone tied to the whipping post on the green, the highwayman Walter Clibbon, and agriculture represented by a tractor. On the other side the panels represent local sport and recreation in the form of rugby, children playing, and cricket.

The sign was paid for by local fund raising and was erected to mark the millennium.

There is a cast plaque on the post which reads:-
