The gardens cover an area of 67.5 Acres. Admission is free. Operating Hours are from sunrise to sunset, 365 days per year. Annually there are approximately +250,000 guest and volunteers log some 23,000+ hours a year.
The Friends of Birmingham Botanical Gardens is 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens' Benches and swings can also be found surrounding the various gardens. Original artwork and sculptures can be found throughout the gardens. The Birmingham Botanical Gardens' paths are wheelchair/stroller accessible. These gardens house the largest clear span glass greenhouse in the Southeast. The Dunn Formal Rose Garden blooms from April to the first Fall frost. All American Rose Selections Display Garden showcases 150 types of hybrid roses. Authentic Japanese Teahouse and Garden, Vegetable Garden, and Fern Garden can be found here as well. The Southern Living garden displays seasonal color in extensive Southern flower borders.
