A small working mine above timberline in Summit County, Colorado. Established in 1899, that Carbonate Mine is a producer of silver, zinc, and lead.

visit link) The mine currently consists of an adit entering the ground at 12,150 feet elevation. A modern building is present to the south of the adit as well as the frame of a deteriorating tramway system. The tramway can be seen running west down the slope of Baldy Peak, intersecting the Little Tommy Mine, and terminating at the Iowa Mill.
