CSUMB has one of the stronger marine-biology programs anywhere, which is appropriate given its oceanside location. It is also able to take advantage of the natural open space surrounding the campus for environmental education. Both of these aspects of science education are celebrated in this pair of murals.
One is a bug's eye view of the typical rolling landscape here; the second is an underwater view of kelp, schooling fish, and one of the robot submersibles with which the marine program investigates the deep reaches of Monterey Bay.
