Gobbler's Knob Lookout was built in 1933 by the Civilian Conservation Corps and was staffed until the 1980s. In 2006, high winds tore the roof off Gobbler's Knob lookout and two of the walls caved in. The lookout has since been restored by park personnel and other organizations including the SCA (Student Conservation Association). The lookout is fully equipped and still used as a fire lookout on an occasional basis.
12-mile roundtrip hike with 2700 feet of elevation gain. Elevation of lookout is 5,485 feet.
