The small four-houses & pub settlement of Waterloo, California is named after the famous Belgian battlefield that sealed the fate of Napoleon Bonaparte in 1815.

The sign depicts two 1800's style cannons. Since Waterloo, CA is unincorporated, there are no entrance/exit signs. The Sign is located on top of the local pub/grocery store/post office/mayor's office building.

Waterloo, CA is so small that neither wikipedia nor any of the common city search sites took notice. However, it has been on the map since 1861 and at least Mapquest recognizes it.
