I can't sure be sure that this is The Dog House that Zippy visited, because there are six Dog Houses in Durham, North Carolina, and they all look alike. It's even said that they're small enough that they can be jacked up and moved to a new location.

The Dog House that I visited was on Hillsborough Road, not far from Duke University. All hot dogs on the menu are named after breeds of dogs, such as Bull-Dog (mustard, slaw, onions, chili), German Shepherd (spicy mustard, sauerkraut), Chihuahua (Pico de Gallo, chili), and Puppy Dog (plain with ketchup or mustard). Prices run from $1.30 to $1.80.
The building design is in the generic shape of a dog house with large fire hydrants included. |
