This very active historical society was founded in July 1936 as an outgrowth of a WPA oral history project. Originally housed in the basement of the courthouse, a new building was built and dedicated in 1975. Located along the banks of the beautiful Mississippi River and near the Charles Lindbergh House and Charles Lindbergh State Park, the park is a must stop. Multiple exhibits, a large display of artifacts and research facilities make this a wonderful place to stop, look, listen and learn.
