Dignity also operates several area cemeteries. There are two chapels each with its own parking lot. The business offers the full range of funeral, cremation and burial services.
The home is located in the historic Harvey Swift Mansion. Swift was a 20th Century Fresno businessman who made his fortune in the lumbering of the Sierras. His home was a large Georgian Revival Mansion constructed in 1905. It was purchased by John Lisle in 1932 for use as a funeral home. Lisle was a businessman/mortician who owned funeral homes around the Central San Joaquin Valley. He also owned a Telephone exchange and a furniture store. He was Fresno County Coroner from 1934-1943.
The original cost of the home was between $40,000-50,000 (1905 dollars) A major change to the home occurred with the construction of the chapels on the north and south side and a large garage adjacent to the north side. The building is currently listed as a Local Historical Resource by both the City and County of Fresno.
