Description: Towns people of Appomattox Court House posing in front of the Clover Hill Tavern in August, 1865, four months after General Lee's surrender.
The current photograph in 2010 was taken closer to the front of the remaining section of the tavern. The section on the left was the dining room, which has been removed. And on the right was the bar, also gone.
