This building is one of the few remaining cottage type homes that historically surrounded San Pedro Springs Park from the past century. Only a few of these classic homes remain and a law firm is now using this building. This house is located near the corner of N. Flores and W. Ashby. The address is 2311 N. Flores, San Antonio, TX 78212 and borders on the edge of San Pedro Springs Park, the oldest public park in Texas and the second oldest public park in the United States. The mosaic is a scene representative of the park. Made of large, irregular shaped tiles of various colors, the picture presents the large gazebo near the springs that flow into a lake surrounded by trees. The tile pieces are bigger then normal mosaic pieces due to the height and distance of the mosaic from an observer on the street level. This scene represents what is actually seen when looking from various vantage points in the park (or would have seen before the theater and pool house were built).
Specific visit requirements:
Visit the San Pedro Springs Park and go to the northwest corner of the park to view this mosaic on the building across the street. Or, go to 2311 N. Flores, San Antonio, TX 78212 to see the mosaic.
