The school was built in 1869 by E Browning. The style is decorated gothic.
The school is faced with knapped flint walling with zig-zagged bands of yellow brick. The zig-zag pattern is followed by a similar motif in the Welsh slate roof. The East gable has a belfry surmounted by a leaded spike.
