There is a stone obelisk on a stone rectangular-prism base with another stone base under that with a plaque on it which reads:

These made the
Supreme Sacrifice
That Liberty
May Live
World War II 1941-1945

Thirteen names of local boys who fought in World War II are inscribed beneath the above text. Just next to this memorial is the same exact memorial but with a different inscription which dedicates the park to all veterans. IN front is a World War memorial as well and a small stone marker memorial which dedicates all tree in the park to veterans as well.

The park was dedicated on Memorial Day, 1951. If you go HERE you can read about the dedication and ceremonies of that day.

This is a beautiful park which takes up exactly one full block of space. There is a big gazebo, several war memorials, a playground, water fountain, benches, lot of trees. Finally, there are tennis courts and a softball field. Next to the monument for the park is another matching monument for World War II. The pavilion lies to the rear of this and the World War monument is in the foreground, thus completing the stone monument/memorial scene.
