J.V. Bailey House
Honoring J.V. Bailey
Dedicated August 27, 2006
J.V. Bailey, founder of Bailey Nurseries, served the
State Fair as Superintendent of Horticulture (1912-1923)
and as a leading member of the Minnesota State
Agricultural Society Board of Managers (1924-1932).
He was President of the board in 1933-1934.
This residence was home to State Fair
greenhouse superintendents and groundskeepers
from the 1920s to 2004. It was also the fair-time home
for board members from the 1920s through 1969.

The J.V. Bailey House now provides community meeting
space, a State Fair reference library and offices for the
Minnesota State Fair Foundation.
Preservation of this historical property was
supported by the Bailey Nursery Foundation and
the Gordon and Margaret Bailey Foundation.
