A heavy edifice of rough-faced granite designed after the Romanesque style and fitting harmoniously into its corner location, stands on the site of the old Indian Head Coffee House, one of the historic early taverns of this locality. The steep hill formerly here made this spot a popular stop for stagecoaches plying between Boston and Concord.~New Hampshire a Guide to the Granite State, 1938
This imposing and impressive building still stands today at the top of Main St. It is still known as the First Church and is a member of the United Church of Christ.
