Historic train depot built in 1892, served seven rail lines and over 5000 passengers daily. It was reopened in 1973 and is now home to several museums, Duluth Art Institute, Duluth Children's Museum, Lake Superior Railroad Museum, St. Louis County Historical Society, and the North Shore Scenic Railroad. The North Shore Scenic Railroad and the Lake Superior Railroad offer daily and/or weekend train ride excursions.
The Depot was once referred to as the "Ellis Island" of Northeastern, MN.
The Museum has many vintage locomotives and other railroad exhibits. One especially interesting is the Depot Square, a life sized replica of what the Depot looked like in 1910.
