King Chulalongkorn V (1853-1910), also known as Rama 5, is one of the great kings of Thailand, and fondly remembered by his people. Statues of him are frequently to be seen throughout Thailand.

One of these statues is found on the grounds of the Roi-Et province administration building in Roi-Et city. This statue follows a standard design. It stands of a plinth, which in turn is on a raised platform. As with most statues in Thailand this is also a shrine to the memory of the king.
