This Wat has been around a while, but it is undergoing major renovations to beautify and popularise itself. It now houses numerous statues, as well as religious and cultural icons of the region. It is a real Wat, but it is also intended to attract a tourist audience, both locals and international tourists.
The Wat main building is a large, three story main structure, with several Buddha images, a small museum, and lots of cultural artefacts (and facilities to make donations). Around the main building are a number of smaller buildings, which house similar displays. The grounds are filled with colourful statues, and activities (bell ringing for one).
Certainly worth the visit, if you happen to find yourself in far north eastern Thailand, with time on your hands. Surprisingly, I could not find a website for the Wat, however, every tourist website which mentions Sisaket mentions this Wat. The Wat is still undergoing expansion.
The waymark was made in the Wat grounds, near the big bell (which you must ring, if you visit).
