Pershore Weir - Man-made Waterfalls on Waymarking.com

This is Pershore Weir, It has one of the largest weir drops on the river Avon at 6 metres, Which is why rocks have been placed at the bottom A to stop the flowing water washing away the river bed and B to prevent people trying to canoe down the weir. During the Second world war many locally stationed airmen drowned swiming in the weir due to the under currents.
