This carving was #13 of Peter Toth's Whispering Giants sculptures. The carving was created from a large tree stump. The carving is of a Native American's head. He has braids in his hair and a feather sticking up from the back of his head. The carving was originally located west of the Arkansas Art Center in MacArthur Park. The sculpture was removed for expansion of the museum and placed in warehouse storage where it remained for four years. The sculpture had significant decay on its interior. The sculpture was restored as an Eagle Scout project, the interior decay was removed and the sculpture was treated with a wood preservative to prevent future decay. The carving was then placed on public display again at the History Pavilion in Riverfront Park.
