Sculptor Gale DuBrow and fabricator Tom McNeilly created this memorial which was dedicated on June 14, 1981. The cube is made of aluminum and the hand is made of bronze. An electric eternal flame is supposed to burn within the cube however it did not appear to be lit when we were there. Given the brightness of the Arizona sun, it may have been on and just not visible at that time of day. The memorial is well tended to, and surrounded by a small garden of natal plum bushes. It is in a prominent place at the synagogue courtyard. Although it is not the prettiest memorial we have seen, it is a moving one. Seeing the names of the death camps, and the words "thou shall not forget" drive home the horror of the events of the time.
