King Chulalongkorn 5 (1853-1910), also known as Rama 5, is one of the great kings of Thailand, and fondly remembered by his people. Statues of him are frequently to be seen throughout Thailand. Outside the entrance to the provincial administration offices of the Buriram province you will see not one, but two statues of the King.

Both stand on a high plinth, and both are in a black stone. As with most statues in Thailand they are also shrines.
