What is now a residential neighborhood in Blanding, Utah was once a sprawling Civilian Conservation Corps camp. A former member of that Civilian Conservation Corps camp, Frank "Bo" Montella, wanted future generations to know and understand the importance of the program and how it fit within the history of Blanding.
With the assistance of a current property owner of the former site, Donald Evans, Mr. Montella erected a monument to the Civilian Conservation Corps in Blanding, Utah which was dedicated in 1996 by San Juan County Commissioner Bill Redd who was also a Civilian Conservation Corps member.
