This simple granite stone is about 5 feet high and about 5 feet across. In front of the marker is the bronze figure of a Firefighter with all his equipment. The marker itself lists all the names of those who were memebers of the Herreid Volunteer Fire Department.

The inscription is as follows: IN HONOR OF THOSE WHO VOLUNTEERED THEIR SERVICES TO OUR COMMUNITY THEY SHALL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
