The Albert Edelfelt school was built in 2008. It is one of the biggest elementary schools in Porvoo having classes from 1 - 9 and about 500 students.
The schools architecture is modern and its outer walls has four 15 square meters in size paintings of Albert Edelfelt, which have been transferred to concrete in a modern graphic photo technology.

He enjoyed considerable success in Paris and was one of the founders of the Realist art movement in Finland.
