This large memorial is dedicated to our Firefighters and lies in The National Memorial Arboretum.

Consisting of a block of six and a half tons of red granite this striking memorial has a stainless steel and enamel badge. The eight-pointed star represents the eight qualities of firefighting: Tact, Gallantry, Dexterity, Observation, Perseverance, Loyalty, Explicitness and Sympathy. There are inscriptions engraved on both sides and a nearby black granite plaque is dedicated to The Fire and Rescue Services. Upon this are the details of the dedication of the memorial garden.
H.R.H. The Princess Royal who is Patron to the Trust unveiled the monument on 20th May 2008. The memorial is to all personnel past, present and future.
