The memorial is constructed of bricks faced with Portland Stone. This obelisk is located at the north-eastern edge of the mound the memorial sits on, in the centre of the arboretum. The co-ordinates are accurate.

There is a shiny, golden top to the obelisk and an inscription which reads:

'They died serving their country
We will remember them'
