It is cold here even in the summer. The station is surrounded by snowbanks, and is accessible only during the summer, fall and spring if weather permits. A gift shop is there, too, but Ranger programs are infrequent. This place is above timberline. The roof has a unique system of logs to prevent avalanches from the roof from dropping onto visitors. Trail Ridge Road is the route to this station.
