Two M 2 Stuart tanks from World War II are displayed at the Minnesota National Guard Armory in Brainerd, MN.
The two tanks are part of the Bataan Death March Memorial and a Memorial to the 194th Tank Battalion. The 194th (formerly the 34th Tank Battalion) was federalized in 1951 during the Korean War.
The 194th (34th) Battalion saw service in the South Pacific and its troops suffered the horrors of the Bataan Death March. Of Brainerd's 64 men that served, only 32 returned to Brainerd at the end of World War II.
The tanks are part of the Memorial to the Death March. The Memorial includes the two tanks, a granite marker, granite memorial with flag and several bronze plaques dedicated to those that served.
Location restrictions:
Located next to National Guard Armory and part of the display to the 194th Tank Battalion and the Bataan Death March. No charge, easy access, and should be visited by all.
