The Jervios Bridge was the only swing bridge to ever be constructed in South Australia. Built by Westwood Baillie of England, and constructed under the supervision of Engineer H.C.Mais.
The bridge spanned the canal at St Vincent Street to link Semaphore with Port Adelaide
Originally carrying traffic, trams and pedestrians, the bridge was reportedly still swinging in the mid 1950's and eventually demolished in 1969.
